Two Things Go Wrong With Calibration

The first is drift you did not know about. An instrument reads within tolerance until it quietly does not, and the first indication is a batch investigation, an out-of-specification result, or an auditor asking why a measurement point has no current certificate.

The second is the calibration itself. An instrument goes out, and the analysis waits — with no fixed date back. For a laboratory releasing product, an open-ended turnaround is a week or more of either held stock or results nobody can stand behind.

BICS addresses both: scheduled programmes so drift is caught before it costs anything, and a firm 5 to 7 day turnaround so you know exactly when the instrument is back.

5 to 7 Days

Our standard calibration turnaround is 5 to 7 days. This is a fixed commitment, not a queue-dependent estimate. It is achieved through 20 years of refined internal systems: standing procedures for common instrument classes, calibrated reference standards held in-house, scheduled workshop capacity rather than queued work, and a documentation process that runs alongside the calibration rather than after it.

Send us your current calibration schedule and turnaround times. We will quote against them directly.

Services

  • Instrument Calibration — laboratory and process instruments, on-site and in workshop, issued with full traceable certification
  • Repairs — on-site and workshop repair, with post-repair calibration and verification included as standard
  • Performance Testing and Verification — for new equipment acceptance, requalification, or audit preparation
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance — scheduled programmes built around your testing calendar and compliance obligations
  • Asset Register Management — location, specification, calibration history, certificate status, and due dates, available continuously
  • Callout Response — defined response times for instrument failures affecting testing throughput or compliance, for service level agreement clients

What We Handle

  • Analytical balances and mass sets
  • pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity meters
  • Thermometers, probes, ovens, incubators, water baths, and furnaces
  • Pressure gauges and transmitters
  • Volumetric apparatus: pipettes, burettes, and dispensers
  • Spectrophotometers and analytical instruments
  • Flow and level instruments on process lines feeding the laboratory

What You Receive

Every calibration is issued with documentation prepared to survive an audit rather than to close a job card.

  • Calibration certificate stating the standard applied, reference equipment used, and traceability chain
  • As-found and as-left readings, so drift is visible and defensible
  • Measurement uncertainty statement
  • Pass, fail, or adjusted status against your stated tolerance
  • Next calibration due date, recorded against your asset register
  • Technician identification and calibration date

Calibration in Regulated Environments

Pharmaceutical, food, water, and petrochemical laboratories are each held to different requirements about how measurement accuracy is evidenced. We write calibration documentation to the standard that governs your facility rather than to a single internal template. See how we support your sector →
